This is a Marine Oil Painting, which represents a Marina the Cote d'Azur. 

The work represents a glimpse of the rocky coastline of the Mediterranean Sea, painted in warm colours.

It is an oil painting on Faesite panel from the late 19th and early 20th century.

The painting is signed Luigi Lanza (1860-1913), an Italian painter of landscapes and marine paintings,

brother of the painter Giovanni Lanza. Active in the 19th century.

Luigi Lanza (1860-1913) was born in Venice where he studied at the Accademia di Venezia and devoted himself

to oil painting of lagoon landscapes and perspective views. He took part in the 1881 exhibition in Turin

He subsequently exhibited his works in Florence, Milan, Venice and Genoa.

Finally, in 1888, he exhibited the painting 'I Frari' at the Exhibition of Italian Art in London

The painting and the frame are restored. Mediterranean Sea.

This oil painting on wood has an original carved wooden frame from the early 20th century, coeval with the work.
