Paul van de Venne (1882 - 1884) studied art at the Academies of Brussels from 1882 to 1884 and of

Saint-Josse-ten-Noode and was a pupil of Jozef Van Dijck.

He loved painting landscapes of the Ardennes, cityscapes of Bruges.

But above all, he painted seascapes, seascapes of dunes and fishermen. Impressionist painter.

From 1925 he worked in Blankenberge, where he exhibited regularly at the Casino Kursaal.

The small oil painting is dressed in a lacquered wooden frame.

The antique painting and the frame are professionally and carefully restored.
