This floral oil painting on canvas is signed bottom left Jean Capeinick (1838-1890), belgian still life and flower painter.

Jean Capeinick (1838-1890) was born in Ghent, studied at the Ghent Academy of Fine Arts and from 1862 started exhibiting

at the Ghent Salon. From 1872 he became a professor at the Ghent Academy and later became a professor in 1881

at the Brussels Academy. He received numerous prizes for his works, one at the Ghent Flower Show in 1873.

He had the well-known artist Jean Delvin as a teacher.

Today, Jean Capeinick's works can be found in the Museum of Fine Arts in Ghent, Belgium.

The oil painting is dressed in a 19th century gilded frame.

The oil painting and the gilded frame are carefully and professionally restored.
